For me, MEIKO ranks second, right next to my family
What was your first personal contact with MEIKO?
My first job interview with Managing Director Ulrich Ströber in 2003 for the position of Sales Coordinator. I remember well how he showed me around the clean, spacious office and the workshop
"How did you do it?" What is your MEIKO 95th anniversary story?
Let's travel back to 2015, it's August. After all the performances during Mr Ulrich Ströber's farewell party were over, some of us who had been working with him for a long time joined together to say goodbye to the invited guests. At that moment, we couldn't help but hug each other and it was a moment of mixed emotions - joy, sadness, gratitude, etc. He was not a perfect person, as nobody is, but a very nice and fair boss and that is why I feel like in a family. We are values driven and we fell that in our everyday work. I would say he has a place in my heart until now.
What place does MEIKO hold in your life?
MEIKO comes right after my family.
How would you describe MEIKO in short sentences?
MEIKO is a company owned by a foundation. It is dedicated to the idea of providing the latest technologies and solutions to solve the current and future challenges of our planet. The big goal is to make the world a cleaner place. MEIKO is a big family that provides platforms and opportunities for its employees to learn, grow and support each other. I see it as my personal commitment to wholeheartedly give my best to the company, no matter where or when.
Let's make the world a cleaner place.
Do you have a favourite MEIKO machine?
Not one, but many. Our machines do the dirty and heavy jobs that humans don't want to do, and they are designed to be kind to our environment as well. If circumstances allowed, there would be an M-iClean U in my kitchen.
Which business options are still too neglected by MEIKO?
During the pandemic, we saw how important the issue of hygiene is. Especially in hospitals and nursing homes there are great challenges to ensure hygiene. Because that's what it's all about in the end - safety for patients and staff.
What future tasks could MEIKO solve?
Recycling organic waste is a major headache for all governments around the world. Instead of throwing it away and causing more problems for the environment, we have developed solutions. In hotel complexes, restaurants, factory catering - there are generally 1.3 billion tonnes of food waste generated worldwide. AD-Plants for organic waste make clean energy possible. This way, food scraps and kitchen waste are sensibly recycled and brought back into the cycle. MEIKO GREEN Waste Solutions has products and solutions that make absolute sense.
What does hardly anyone know about MEIKO?
Dishwasher customers still know too little about the fact that MEIKO also offers cleaning and disinfection equipment for hospitals and nursing homes. Or that we clean the respiratory protection masks of the fire brigades in a hygienic and safe way or that we recycle food waste in a meaningful way.
Our customers should know more about us.
What do you wish MEIKO for its birthday?I wish our company a successful tomorrow. Let's work hard together to survive the post-epidemic period and celebrate our 100th birthday.
